Forum Description:

We talk about the original and by far the best RPG game.  Our site is always moving ahead with site updates thanks to our site store that we provided D&D related items for sale.

We always welcome new members who know the game and as well as those who want to learn.

What is Dungeons and Dragons?  Well I am glad you asked:

This is the Dungeons & Dragons Roleplaying Game, the game that defines the genre and has set the standard for fantasy roleplaying for morethan 30 years.

D&D is an imaginative, social experience that engages players in a rich fantasy world filled with larger-than-lifeheroes, deadly monsters, and diverse settings. As a hobby game, D&D is an ongoing activity to which players might devote hours of their time—much like a weekly poker game—getting together with friends  on a regular basis for weeks, months, or even years.

Players create heroic fantasy characters -- mighty warriors,  stealthy rogues, or powerful wizards -- which they guide through an ongoing series of adventures, working together to defeat monsters and other challenges and growing in power, glory, and achievement. The game offers endless possibilities and a multitude of choices . . .more choices than even the most sophisticated computer game,
because you can do whatever you can imagine!

What is a role playing game?

The D&D game(as a role playing game) is a fantasy game of your imagination. It's part acting, part storytelling, part social interaction, part war game, and part dice rolling. You and your friends create characters that develop and grow with each adventure they complete. One player is the Dungeon Master (DM). The DM controls the monsters and enemies, narrates the action, referees the game, and sets up the adventure. To get her, the Dungeon Master and the players make the game come alive.

The Players

Each player chooses the character that he or she plays. Each character has unique strengths, weakness, and abilities. For example, some characters have the power to cast spells, some have combat expertise, and others have special skills. You can even create your own character from scratch.

The Players' Characters

Your characters star in the adventures you play, just like the heroes of a  book or movie. Your character might be a savage barbarian from the frozen wastes,  or a clever rogue with a quick wit and a quicker blade. You might be an archer trained in survival techniques, or a wizard who has mastered the arcane arts.
As your character participates in adventures, he or she gains experience and becomes more powerful.

What can characters do in the game?

A character can try to do anything you can imagine, just as long as it fits the scene the DM describes. Depending on thesituation, your character might want to listen at a door, search an area, bargain with a shopkeeper, talk to an ally, jump across a pit, move, use an item, or attack an opponent.

To do these things and more, you use the core mechanic of the game.

What does the Dungeon Master do?

The Dungeon Master (DM) is the one who plays the "bad guys." He knows the secrets of the dungeon, either because he has read the dungeon that the players explore or because he created that dungeon himself.

What should I know about D&D adventures?

A Dungeons & Dragons adventure features plenty of action, exciting combat, terrifying monsters, epic challenges, and all kinds of mysteries to uncover. What lies at the heart of the dungeon? What waits around the next corner or behind the next door? Playing the roles of your characters, you and your friends face the dangers and explore aworld of medieval fantasy.

What do you need to play?

Your group needs these items to play D&D: The D&D Basic Game (if you've never played before); otherwise: The Player's Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide, and Monster Manual revised core rulebooks. (All players might want to have their own copies of the books.)

   * A copy of the character sheet at the back of the Player's Handbook for each player.
   * A battle grid. The Dungeon Master's Guide contains one.
   * Miniatures to represent each character and the monsters that challenge them.
  * A set of dice for each player. A set of dice includes at least one          four-sided die (d4), four six-sided dice (d6), one eight-sided die (d8),
two ten-sided dice (d10), one twelve-sided die (d12), and one twenty-sided die (d20).
   * Pencils, scrap paper, and graph paper to keep notes and to map the locations your characters will explore.

The D&D Basic Game

If you've never played before, the D&D Basic Game introduces you and your friends to a limitless world of imagination. It shows you how the game works and how to make the game work for you.

The Core Rulebooks

Together, these three volumes comprise the core rules for the Dungeons & Dragons game:

Player's Handbook: The rules in the D&D Basic Game come from the Player's Handbook; the hardcover D&D Player's Handbook gives you many more options. The Player's Handbook gives you complete rules to create characters, select equipment, and engage in combat with a variety of supernatural and mythical foes.

Dungeon Master's Guide: This book contains information that every Dungeon Master (DM) needs to setup adventures, narrate the action, run the monsters, and referee the Dungeons & Dragons game.

Monster Manual: The Monster Manual contains material that players and DMs alike will find useful. With hundreds of monsters to populate all levels of dungeons, this tome also includes monster creation rules, information on playing monsters as characters, details on monster tactics, and powered-up versions of standard creatures.

D&D Miniatures: The Dungeons & Dragons game is a game of imagination,  but it is also a game of tactics and strategy. Miniatures, representing characters and monsters in thegame, and a battle grid provide the best way to visualize action. The game assumes the use of miniatures and a battle grid, and the rules are written from this perspective.

I am the Webmaster there and invite you to come visit and sign up if you are interested.

The border is perfect!

It is that I would like that big image (the head of it) to be just like the original banner with the border like you made it

And the second moster on each side right and left position them like they are facing each other.

*note this site works better on Firefox!

#19 Re: Public basket - Corbeille publique » Dungeons and Dragons banner needed » 2008-05-05 12:52:35

Love the text but it seems as though the background image (the monster) is gone.  My eye site is real bad in the morning.  So I cant really tell but it looks it.

By the way I have been having troubles getting on this site.  I guess I should have Pmed Caihlem on the support site.  On a different computer now.  I shall try the other computer with firefox and then try to get on here.

Can you keep the D&D RPG and Miniatures Geeks text the same size?

#20 Re: Battles Archives » {Blood} Vs. {Kilsek} » 2008-04-18 14:12:47

I may have to back out I am now sick with the flu and have a ear infection.  Sorry about this but I cannot stand being behind a computer for very long.

#21 Re: Battles Archives » {Blood} Vs. {Kilsek} » 2008-04-18 00:52:03

#23 Re: Public basket - Corbeille publique » Dungeons and Dragons banner needed » 2008-04-09 23:59:36

I wouldnt have posted here if I thought he was going to finish.  And I do realize that they have lives of thier own.  I am not forcing people to do anything.

as far as the tag, I tried to do the border and messed it all up.  If you look through the forum here you would see how many times I have asked how to do borders and all.

As I stated on my post on the helkp site I dont mind about the tag.  Your concerns would have been better dealt with in PM.

Is the reason for all the help site mods hostility towards me lately been because of the post on my help site?  Well need I remind you we live in USA-Freedome of speach is well protected here.

Not to mention I took care of said post

#25 Re: Finished requests » (Waiting) Streaming Ultimate » 2008-04-09 18:42:23

Ok I will close this and send it to the archives.

normal11.png

#30 Re: Battles Archives » {Blood} Vs. {Kilsek} » 2008-04-08 20:10:51

WEll I am having fun with this as I believe Blood is the better graphics guy between us.  My pieces deal with this challenge.

#31 Re: Battles Archives » {Blood} Vs. {Kilsek} » 2008-04-08 17:04:02

*kilsek got to remember how to do borders..............

Personally, I manipulate selections.  The border script-fu has the flaw to enlarge the pic.

uhmm, how long we got  tp do this?

Oops, I didn't think about it.  The maximum, I would say, will be 2 weeks.

EDIT: how does one see transpearant background?

If you talk about the Planetrenders site, I told above that you must be registered.  The small images, as you see, are thumbnails, you have to click on them to enlarge these pics.  If you aren't connected, you won't see them full sized and transparent.

me member now.............

Oh I hear you about the eye strain.  I have spend hours in front of this computer at the SF.  I already have blurred vision, and now, I can't hardly see anything.  lol  I had to increase my view over and over again, so I could see.  lol

The reason you have blurred vision from the support forum is you are stareing at the screen try to understand what people are saying.

Bad enough we got those french folks  :dev:  there but you have folks from other countries try to speak english but cant-not thier fault but it gets to be fustrating at times.

#38 Re: Public basket - Corbeille publique » Need pure English people's help - DST » 2008-03-23 15:19:51

Hi Katt, Yes I agree with AO Admin. I have never used that term before " Seasonal Time Correction" although it sounds kinda cool. But yeah I think it might be a little confusing. Here is the US it's frequent term is Daylight Savings, or Daylight Savings Time.

Have to agree with [s]Nessa</span><!--/s--> daylight Savings time is the better term

now that Kilsek  has drag burns, he wonders how he got to the hospital, and is now in shock from the hospital bill.  Kilsek signs the rest of the papers and heads back to the bar.

Looking at Blood as he falls to the floor, Kilsek finishes his scotch and passes out.

#49 Re: English Zone » Ishimaru Pub » 2008-01-18 03:47:41

OMG!

Well since the Pub was bought with my pay, then I will set the one and only rule!

No poster's allowed with two of the same vowel after each other in thier name.

Now I need to hire a couple bartenders.  I will now take applications.

In the mean time I sit at this bar all alone awaiting for the first customers to arrive.

I bust open a bottle of scotch.
